Friends,
I receive many emails from people running for office. You may, too. They all look the same. Candidates never mention what they want to do for us or what their mission is. They just ask for money.
Not Bob. That first email I read from him differed significantly from all the others. Rather than just ranting about Trump, he spoke passionately about the issues we all care about — preserving Social Security and Medicare, supporting the labor unions, and supporting the people who actually do the work to keep America running.
Bob spoke about fair wages for auto workers, teachers, healthcare workers, cops, and firefighters. Unlike many other politicians, he seems completely sincere when he says he wants to go to Washington to make a better life for all of us — hardworking, everyday people trying hard to survive.
I live in New York City, but after hearing about how much he loves Northern Michigan and the UP and the amazing things he wants to do to make it even better, I'm considering moving to his district. I'd love to cast a ballot for Bob!
Bob is also a proponent of campaign finance reform. He relies solely on grassroots fundraising from supporters like us. Because he doesn't take a dime from corporate PACs, dark money, or ultra-wealthy donors looking for political influence, his right-wing opponent outspent him.
So, this morning, just like I did the first time I read his email, I'm asking you to contribute if you can.
Bob will make a genuine difference, and your contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in his campaign.
Thank you for considering.
