Introducing TRS-Care Dental and TRS-Care Vision with MetLife

One in 43 Texans already trusts TRS to be the health care they can count on. And now, TRS is adding two more reliable plans that can enhance our retirees’ everyday health—TRS-Care Dental and TRS-Care Vision! 

These new, optional plans will offer extensive provider networks and benefits to help you see and smile with confidence as you explore new adventures.    

Through TRS-Care Dental and TRS-Care Vision, you can expect:

     ✔️ High-value benefits  

     ✔️ Great customer service   

     ✔️ Broad provider network 

And if you’re enrolled in one of our medical plans, why not keep all your health care in one spot for ease? Make TRS the choice you can count on for all aspects of your well-being.   

These are two separate plans even though each will be administered by MetLife. You can enroll in dental or vision – or both! Enrollment will happen later this fall. 

TRS-Care Medicare Advantage Changes 

TRS’ diligent health plan management, along with recent federal changes to Medicare, and other factors have generated savings for the TRS-Care Medicare Advantage plans. This provides TRS with a unique opportunity to review premium costs for participants.      

TRS received direction from Texas legislative leadership to use these savings to reduce TRS-Care Medicare Advantage premiums. TRS would also allow for a limited-time enrollment opportunity for eligible TRS-Care Medicare Advantage participants.      

As TRS evaluates how to accomplish these goals while maintaining the fund’s long-term stability, and the TRS Board of Trustees makes its final decisions, TRS will keep their retirees informed every step of the way.
