In light of the events on college campuses in North Carolina and across the nation, public schools must teach the truth about world history and US history so that every citizen of our country understands and respects our laws. Our constitution is the greatest government document ever written, and its tenets are founded on biblical principles and moral standards. Our public schools should instill American values such as respecting the inherent dignity of every individual, justice, fairness, and liberty. Educational programs that divide others by race, religion, or ethnicity undermine our unity as a nation and increase our vulnerability to violence. During every newscast, we see the results of this dangerous programming. As superintendent, I will work to strengthen our civics program in our schools and eradicate racial and sexual indoctrination. Students will learn the blessing and responsibility that comes with being a citizen of the greatest country in the history of the world.
