Sanders becomes the first female governor to stand against Biden’s illegal Title IX rewrite & issue pro-woman Executive Order
Hi there,
Independent Women’s Voice was on the ground today in Arkansas to celebrate Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for defending Title IX and women’s sex-based rights against President Biden’s illegal attempt to gut the 1972 landmark civil rights law.
Title IX was enacted in 1972 to outlaw sex discrimination in federally funded programs and expand educational opportunities for women and girls. But a new administrative rule released on April 19 by the Biden administration turns Title IX on its head, requiring schools to allow males to self-identify into women’s spaces, opportunities, and athletics.
More specifically, the new rule forces schools to let males replace women — to take our opportunities and our scholarships — and enter our private spaces, including locker rooms and bathrooms. It encourages schools to gaslight women who do not consent to these violations and to compel speech and punish students who express certain political viewpoints. Under this unconstitutional rule, a child’s refusal to use preferred pronouns is grounds for punishment.
How Orwellian is that?
Thankfully, we have some tremendous leaders in our country, and today we saw that on full display. In an Executive Order signed today, and inspired by IWV’s Women’s Bill of Rights ([link removed]) , Governor Sanders directs state officials to continue enforcing Title IX and Arkansas state law as written, not as twisted by President Biden in his flagrantly illegal administrative rule ([link removed]) .
As an ambassador for IWV, I had the privilege of attending the signing ceremony alongside Governor Sanders.

Sanders is the first female governor to affirm that the meaning of sex-based terms used in law is not fungible and to resist President Biden’s attempt to replace and erase women by administrative fiat.
Her commitment to protect Title IX, prevent unjust sex discrimination, and preserve women's sports is truly commendable. By enshrining in law definitions of ‘sex’ and ‘woman’ that are grounded in science and common sense, Gov. Sanders has unequivocally demonstrated her dedication to championing women's rights.

Governor Sanders' leadership sets a powerful example for other states to also resist this illegal attempt to replace and erase women.
In issuing this executive order, Arkansas joins other states inspired by Women’s Bill of Rights legislation, including Kansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Idaho, all of which have enacted measures to legally define sex consistent with science. Alabama, Iowa, Louisiana, and Mississippi are also advancing legislation inspired by the Women’s Bill of Rights this session.
Let us celebrate Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' historic achievement ([link removed]) and continue our collective efforts and momentum to promote and protect women's rights across the nation.
This progress isn’t possible without your continued support, Friend. Please consider a gift of $10, $50, $100, $1,000, or more to IWV today to keep the momentum going to advance IWV’s Women’s Bill of Rights model legislation, so every state stands with women! ([link removed])
Yours in the fight,
