Budzinski Renews Call to Preserve the Affordable Connectivity Program as Full Funding Expires

“I was sent to Washington to bring down the high costs that are holding too many working families back. The Affordable Connectivity Program has been doing just that, and today, Republicans have left our most vulnerable Americans out to dry,” — Rep. Nikki Budzinski

In this day and age, broadband internet connectivity isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity that so many people depend on.

Accessible broadband was an integral part of the American Rescue Plan, which lowered internet costs for families across the nation.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit provided free or discounted broadband internet access for low-income families, ensuring that kids could get an education and people could access the resources they needed as we emerged from the pandemic. We expanded connectivity access even further with the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which gave over 20 million households access to affordable internet.

This was a good-faith, bipartisan effort, and now that Republicans hold the majority, they’ve allowed this funding to expire. Will you join Nikki by signing your name and standing up for expanding internet access to low-income families?
