Hey friend. Just wanted to make sure you heard the news.

President Biden announced today that his administration is expanding TWO national monuments EnviroVoters has been working on for years: San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument.

With these two expansions, the Biden-Harris Administration is protecting cultural resources in California, and protecting our biodiversity and water access.

Expanding monuments is a team effort, and we could not have done it without the work of our elected officials in addition to local Tribes, community workers, businesses, and activists like you.

Friend, will you make a donation today to help us celebrate this monumental victory and continue the fight to protect California’s critical ecosystems? Thanks to your support, we’ll be able to continue fighting for these historic public lands wins.

Friend, we’re so thankful for the leadership of President Biden, Vice President Harris, Senator Alex Padilla, and Representatives Judy Chu and John Garamendi. By protecting 26 million acres and counting, the Biden Administration has done more for conservation than any other in U.S. history.

This is a truly monumental victory for not just Californians but everyone around the world who wants to experience the outdoors, breathe clean air, drink clean water, conserve our wild spaces, and mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis.

National monuments are a win-win for permanently protecting our cultural and natural resources and advancing equity in the outdoors. By reducing carbon emissions and protecting water sources in particular, public lands are a powerhouse for addressing climate change.

This achievement would not have happened without the advocacy of groups like EnviroVoters and advocates like YOU, friend.

Thousands upon thousands of members of this team signed petitions to President Biden urging him to do what he just did. And your direct support allowed us to coordinate with coalitions, mobilize Californians, lobby elected officials, and, ultimately, protect more public land. We spent YEARS working in coalition with Senator Padilla, Representatives Chu and Garamendi, and community members to make this happen!

Will you make a donation to celebrate this monumental win and continue to invest in our work to champion world-changing climate solutions?

The Biden-Harris Administration’s actions today will protect an additional 109,000 acres of San Gabriel Mountains National Monument outside of L.A. and another 3,925 acres of Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument in Northern California, including “Molok Luyuk,” land sacred to the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.

The expansions hold historical and cultural significance to California Tribes and Indigenous communities, and will provide communities with critical drinking water, create access to green spaces for underserved communities, and serve as wildlife corridors and habitats for imperiled animals and native plants.

Friend, it’s no coincidence that President Biden made this announcement just a few weeks after we wrapped up our first Public Lands Month. He noticed the public support for taking action, felt the pressure from voters across the country, and recognized the importance of expanding these monuments.

EnviroVoters is only able to advocate for causes — and help secure victories — like these because of the resources and support people like you provide. We’ve got a long list of priorities we want to accomplish this year, but we’re a small nonprofit up against the world’s biggest corporate polluters.

Please help us build on the momentum of today’s news by making a special donation today so we can continue to fight for groundbreaking change » [link removed]

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to build a legacy of preservation and harmony with our natural world.
