A Wisconsin middle school narrowly avoided a mass violence disaster.

Hi friends,

In case you missed it, yesterday in Wisconsin, another school faced the ominous threat of mass violence.

Amidst the shadow of tragedy, I find solace in the swift and resolute actions of the Mount Horeb faculty and staff. Their courage and dedication were pivotal in safeguarding their students from harm.

Friend, such a commendable response was only possible through the implementation of robust threat prevention measures.

It was the proactive security protocols, meticulously set in place, that prevented the assailant from breaching the school's entrance. From controlled access to stringent visitor screening, each measure served as a vital barricade against potential harm.

Moreover, the empowerment of students to swiftly communicate threats and the decisive action taken by staff underscored the effectiveness of their preparedness.

While the outcome of this incident is undeniably tragic, it's imperative to acknowledge that a potentially greater catastrophe was averted, a testament to the efficacy of these measures.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the collaborative efforts of the community's first responders and the Mount Horeb team, whose professionalism and dedication shone brightly in the face of adversity.

Friend, in the wake of recent events, I urge you to stand with us in supporting initiatives aimed at fortifying school safety and preventing further acts of violence. We advocate for comprehensive solutions like the EAGLES Act, which seeks to expand the focus of the U.S. Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center, aiming to prevent targeted violence, including within our schools. Your support is invaluable in implementing crucial initiatives like these and ensuring the safety of our educational environments.
