I come bearing unfortunate news. After doing some final tallying of the numbers, we fell short of our April End-of-Month fundraising goal.

While this is a minor setback, our campaign isn’t doomed. I’m not going to lie to you and say that “the sky is falling” just because we came up a couple hundred dollars short of our goal.

But what I will say is that reaching our fundraising goals puts us in a better position and shows our grassroots strength. The closer we get to November, the greater the stakes.

And with a new GOP opponent challenging me for MI-11, and Trump making noise in Michigan, we have a lot to lose if they succeed at flipping our battleground state red.
