Defender of Wildlife,
Even in the midst of a global crisis, the Trump administration continues to barrel forward with its war on wildlife.
The Interior Department is taking advantage of the ongoing COVID-19 emergency by ramping up efforts to suppress science, slash environmental protections and give away our natural resources to industry giants.
They know Americans are too focused on dealing with the pandemic to keep up. Pushing harmful policy changes right now isn’t just unfair – it’s a shady betrayal of the public!
Demand the Interior Department suspend policy changes and comment periods until the end of the COVID-19 crisis!
The Interior Department’s proposals come while the country is too hard-hit to participate in decisions that are supposed to include the public.
Right now, the administration is rushing to finalize damaging rollbacks to our bedrock conservation laws like the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA). They’re also moving to auction off controversial oil and gas lease sales in places like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, the Environmental Protection Agency issued a new policy suspending its enforcement of environmental laws to let industry pollute our air and water during this pandemic, without any fear of repercussions.
We can’t let this administration exploit this disaster to further degrade key protections on wildlife!
Stop the Interior Department from betraying us – Tell them to hold all policy changes and comment periods until this crisis is over!
We’re focused on getting through this emergency as a community, but the Trump administration is seizing this as a chance to gut environmental protections that took decades to build. When this emergency is in the past, it could be too late to save wolves, polar bears and other vulnerable wildlife.
Please – we can’t let them get away with this. Raise your voice today to demand a stop to these sneak attacks on wildlife, our communities and our natural world.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of imperiled wildlife.
Sincerely,
 |
