Hey there, folks — yesterday was International Workers’ Day or May Day, a day celebrated across the world to highlight the progress we’ve made thanks to unions and the working class.

If you didn’t know, before I began my term as the Chair of our party, I traveled from state to state organizing communications workers as the Field Director for the Communications Workers of America.

I got my start with CWA as a union steward. As a call center employee for 17 years, I knew the importance of a strong union, how it can enhance workplace protections and ensure that workers are protected from violations by their employers.

Everyone deserves the protection of a union — and the Protecting the Right to Organize Act will help to ensure that organizers can do the work it takes to build strong unions in every industry.
