John, taking on gun control advocacy while being a full-time teacher has been no easy feat.

As teachers, we’re expected to do so much on our own, from providing basic school supplies to furnishing our own classroom to sharing lesson plans with our colleagues. And we always manage.

But when it comes to protecting our schools and communities from gun violence, we can’t be expected to do it on our own – especially not when lifesaving laws and policy changes are being ignored by those with the power to enact them.
