Friend,
If you’re concerned about pesticides, here are three numbers you need to know about:
- 99% of raisins tested positive for at least two pesticides. Brain-damaging chlorpyrifos and bee-killing neonics were among the pesticides found on raisins.
- 60% of kale samples tested positive for dacthal, a possibly cancer-causing pesticide that can also harm the lungs, liver, kidney and thyroid.
- Up to 23 different pesticides can be found on a single strawberry sample.
But Big Ag doesn’t want you to know these facts because they make money while keeping you in the dark. They’ve tried to silence our work on the Dirty Dozen™, calling our report “fake news” and “propaganda.” We need your help to fight back, but we’re falling short of a critical fundraising goal.
We need to raise $100K by April 10 for our Stop Pesticide Pollution Campaign. But with less than 48 hours until our deadline, we still need to raise $22,378 to continue our work on pesticides and defend our research from Big Ag’s attacks.
We don’t yet have your campaign support on record. Can you help us hit our goal? It will take just two minutes. Donate $15 or more today and we’ll send you a 2020 Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen™ bag tag as a thank-you.
Big Ag front groups have been attacking EWG’s pesticide work non-stop. They’re threatened by our work on the Dirty Dozen and will do whatever it takes to protect their profits.
EWG’s top priority is to protect your health. We give you the facts to help you reduce your pesticide exposure. The U.S has refused to ban toxic pesticides like atrazine, chlorpyrifos and glyphosate. Bottom line: The government isn’t doing what it should to protect us.
That’s why our work is so important. EWG launched the Stop Pesticide Pollution Campaign to expand our work on pesticides and continue to tell you the truth.
If we don’t hit our revenue goals, we’re putting our overall budget at risk. You can help protect the pesticide research you count on to make the best possible choices for your family. Please get your support on record with a donation before midnight tomorrow.
I hope we can count on your support. We’ll never stop fighting to tell you the truth about your food, water or products in your home.
Thanks so much, friend.
