"No Mow May" is back! This fun environmental campaign encourages residents to refrain from mowing their lawns during the month of May. The aim is to promote biodiversity and to provide a habitat for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and other insects.
In May, many Maine wildflowers begin to bloom, providing a vital source of nectar & pollen for pollinators. By not mowing, you can help provide a much-needed refuge for these important species.
In an effort to lead by example, the City of Auburn & Auburn Public Works have selected locations in the city that will not be mowed during the month of May. We will also be planting a pollinator garden this month.
Residents are encouraged to join the fun & participate in "No Mow May!" The first 100 residents to enroll will receive a free yard sign to proudly announce their participation! Sign up today at: https://www.auburnmaine.gov/pages/government/nomowmay
**If you received a "No Mow May" sign last year, we encourage you to put it out again this year!**
