Dear Neighbor,
Last Friday, I had the joy of hosting my 22nd Annual Congressional Art Competition at Glen A. Wilson High School. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity for high school students in our area to showcase their artistic abilities and earn scholarships for college and for our community to come together in support of our students.
This is always one of my favorite events and I was excited to celebrate all our local student artists. We have some real talent here in Southern California!
We received over 115 entries from 25 high schools throughout our district – so it was tough to choose just a few winners. This year, the grand prize went to “Love’s Sorrow” by Amber Juarez from Los Altos High School.
Congratulations Amber! I look forward to seeing your work displayed in the U.S. Capitol very soon.
Thank you to all our high school artists for participating and letting your creativity shine. I can’t wait for next year.
Sincerely,
Linda T. Sánchez
Member of Congress
