One week ago, we made history against Republican billionaires... again.
At the start of this cycle, AIPAC put a target on all of the Squad's backs, promising to defeat us with $100M from their GOP megadonors. But they got a few things wrong.
First, they underestimated the progressive movement we've been building for years in Western PA—a movement that prioritizes everyday people over corporations and has been vital in electing a new generation of leaders committed to real change. From Mayor Ed Gainey to County Executive Sara Innamorato, Western PA is the blueprint for building progressive power nationwide.
Second, they claimed that progressives don't deliver for our districts. Yet, while we tirelessly fight for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, living wages, racial equity, we're also delivering billions in benefits every day—from clean air and water to green jobs and affordable housing. Building towards the future we deserve, while delivering for working families every day.
Third, AIPAC’s policies are deeply unpopular with Democratic voters, and they know this, which is why their ads never mention Israel. The policies we lead on—from a permanent ceasefire and conditioning military funding to Netanyahu— our constituents overwhelmingly support.
And AIPAC is livid that our Democratic voters are not aligned with their Republican megadonors who aim to incite endless wars abroad.
We out-organized, out-messaged, and out-delivered AIPAC, stopping them from even gaining ground. They even tried—and failed—to recruit a challenger here in Pittsburgh.
AIPAC's cycle goal was a complete failure thanks to our collective efforts. However, they are now targeting colleagues like Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, because nothing threatens their power more than authentic voices of a former school principal and a nurse representing everyday people in DC.
Our movement in Congress—to stand up for working families, protect abortion rights, dismantle corporate power, end Super PAC influence, and to end the genocide of the Palestinian people—is under constant threat.
Together, we've shown that grassroots power can triumph over Republican billionaire influence. Let's keep pushing forward and let’s keep fighting back!
