James, as law enforcement descended on college campuses to arrest students peacefully protesting America’s complicity in Netanyahu’s atrocities in Gaza, Bernie had a message for President Biden on the floor of the U.S. Senate:
“Mr. President, maybe it is time to not simply worry about the violence we are seeing on American college campuses, but to focus on the unprecedented violence we are seeing in Gaza.”
As Netanyahu promises to invade Rafah with the bombs and billions in funding President Biden just sent Israel, Biden has a lot to say about student protestors — but not much to say about his complicity in the murder of 34,000 Palestinians.
Add your name: Time for Peace is running out. President Biden MUST broker an immediate, permanent Ceasefire now! Diplomacy is the only way to stop more atrocities in Gaza.
Bernie kept going. "I suggest to CNN and maybe some of my colleagues here, maybe take your cameras, just for a moment, off of Columbia and UCLA. Maybe go to Gaza, and take your camera and show us the emaciated children who are dying of malnutrition because of Netanyahu's policies."
Bernie also noted on the floor of the Senate that some members of Congress have been using the phrase “pro-Palestinian” to suggest that those who support dignity and Peace for people in Gaza actually support terrorism. It’s a gross, racist sentiment from some of the leaders of this country, and it’s the kind of disgusting rhetoric that fuels U.S. complicity in the bombing of civilians in Gaza.
We are seeing the consequences of a government that refused to take the side of Peace, morality, and protecting the Palestinian people. Our government must now make the decision to end what it has allowed to continue.
Add your name: The U.S. must broker a Ceasefire and end its complicity in the atrocities against the Palestinian people.
When we organize, we win.
