John,
Two years ago today, we found out that the U.S. Supreme Court was planning to overturn Roe v. Wade and end the constitutional right to abortion in America.
We remember that day all too well, and we're seeing its effects constantly. Anti-choice Republicans continue to strip away fundamental rights from millions, knowing full well the vast majority of Americans are pro-choice. Just look at the six-week ban that went into effect yesterday in Florida: not only will it decimate abortion access in the state, it will also affect access across the entire South.
May 2, 2022 confirmed what we already suspected: the Court won't protect us. We must win elections to fight back. If you can, please donate today to help our work continue.
Our fight changed that day, and our rage found a voice in Vice President Kamala Harris when she asked a powerful question from the stage of our We Are EMILY Gala the following night: "How dare they?"
EMILYs List has been working harder than ever to help elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot from coast to coast. We were doing it long before the Dobbs leak, and we'll do it until reproductive rights are protected everywhere.
And, John, the hard work has paid off. We've helped elect hundreds of women since 2022, and last November, abortion won from coast to coast with Democrats holding the Virginia Senate and gaining a majority in the House of Delegates — not to mention we know what voters want — just look at the success of pro-choice ballot measures every single time they appeared on the ballot.
We couldn't do it without the support of this millions-strong pro-choice community, and we're so grateful to have you on the team.
We've responded to Republicans' attacks on our fundamental rights with fierceness and determination, and we're not letting up now. Will you donate today to fuel the fight and help elect more Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot?
