I wanted to just reach out, connect, and check in with you, your friends, and your neighbors.

While people here in Georgia and across the country are fighting for their lives against the COVID-19 virus, please know that I am working hard with my colleagues for you in Congress!

In early March, we passed an $8.3 billion coronavirus package for vaccine research, prevention and preparedness and another plan to expand family and medical leave and guarantee paid sick leave for certain workers. Last week, we approved a massive $2.2 trillion stimulus package to keep Americans afloat during this crisis. This law provides for $1,200 checks to be sent to most Americans, increases in jobless benefits for millions left out of work, and implements new loans and tax breaks to businesses, as well as increased aid to states and hospitals.

But we must do more! We must send additional payments to families and provide desperately needed resources to those on the front line, including personal protection equipment (PPE). Our churches and nonprofits need help too.

Throughout my entire career, I have worked in a bipartisan way — in good times and bad — to promote jobs and a strong economy, better education, safe communities, a clean environment, affordable and accessible health care, a strong national defense and support for our veterans. We need this now more than ever before!
