DLI's Labor Standards Division is providing a series of webinars to help workers and employers better understand the state's wage and hour laws.

The next webinar is Tuesday, May 21, and will include information about state and federal laws, allowances and restrictions for youth and teen workers in Minnesota. Recipients of 2024 Youth Skills Training grants announced

Seventeen partnerships across Minnesota will receive funding to develop and expand programs to offer meaningful career exposure and paid work experience for students 16 years of age and older. The grants are part of the Youth Skills Training program that helps create and provide employment training for student learners ages 16 and older in high-growth, high-demand occupations. Minnesota OSHA Compliance's next free Construction Seminar, 7 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, focuses on crane safety, the largest pieces of equipment used on construction sites. This seminar is being offered online and in person.

A new edition of Safety Lines, the quarterly newsletter from Minnesota OSHA, was published April 8 and is available online. Subscribe to be notified via email whenever a new edition is available.


MNOSHA fatality, serious-injury investigation summaries online

Each month, Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) Compliance publishes current, updated summaries of its fatality investigations and serious-injury investigations.

For the federal-fiscal-year that began Oct. 1, 2023, MNOSHA has investigated 13 fatalities through April 30.

The information provided about each investigation is:? the inspection number, date of incident and worksite city; the type of business and number of employees; a description of the event; and the outcome of the MNOSHA Compliance investigation.

The Department of Labor and Industry ensures Minnesota?s work and living environments are equitable, healthy and safe.
