We have bad news: an extreme, near-total abortion ban went into effect in Florida yesterday. Make no mistake — extremists are infringing on our reproductive rights in ways that we’ve never seen before.
Kentuckians know better than most about what it takes to fight for these rights. Most importantly, we know what it takes to win. In 2022, Kentucky voters rejected Amendment 2 — an extreme and cruel assault on a woman’s right to make health choices about her own body.

Sadly, our friends in Florida have found themselves in a similar position. In November, Florida voters will have the chance to reverse a six-week ban by codifying abortion access into their state constitution.
Kentuckians understand what’s at stake. That’s why KDP will be standing alongside Florida Democrats and joining them in their efforts to stop Republican extremists from banning abortion with no real exceptions. This isn't just a Florida or Kentucky issue; it's a freedom issue.
