June 3, 6-9 p.m.
Friend –
Join the ACLU of the District of Columbia for an exciting social hour with drinks and appetizers, as we come together to celebrate and honor outstanding people in D.C. defending civil rights and liberties.
Local drag queen Tara Hoot <[link removed]> will host the evening, and we'll be lucky enough to enjoy an energizing performance by Eastern High School's marching band, the "Blue and White Marching Machine." <[link removed]>
This year, we'll also be honoring these community members with awards:
* Student groups and clubs who have helped in the ACLU's legal and organizing work throughout the last few years.
* A group of whistleblowers who have been vital in a number of the cases we have brought against the Metropolitan Police Department.
* Mary Beth Tinker for her lifetime of service speaking up about students' rights and First Amendment rights.
Tickets <[link removed]> start at $51 to honor D.C.'s continued fight for Statehood. Each ticket includes food and two (2) drinks.
