Fellow activist,

We wanted to reach out and extend our deepest gratitude for your support.

Because of you, we are able to continue working to expand Pennsylvania's electorate so it reflects the Commonwealth's demographically changing population, centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities, and the youth (17-35-year-olds). We do this by helping folks register to vote, providing education about the issues that matter most, and mobilizing voters to vote in every election, twice a year.

This work has never been more important. Here’s why:

According to PoliticsPA, only 1 in 4 registered voters – both Republicans and Democrats – turned out to cast their ballots during April’s presidential primary election. In fact, Pittsburgh saw its lowest presidential primary turnout since 2012.

Additionally, we are seeing an increase in misinformation about the safety of the PA election systems being spread online. As our CEO Kadida Kenner has stated to NBC News, bad actors are spreading bad information on social media to cast doubt over the electoral process “with the intent to suppress votes.”

A big part of our job this year will be countering this misinformation and ensuring that voters are able to navigate barriers to the ballot box and understand how critical it is for them to make their voices heard. Your support is making that work possible.

Thank you for standing with us,

Team NPP

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
