From assessing a patient’s symptoms to delivering babies to cleaning wounds, nurses are a lifeline for patients at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) hospitals, clinics, and projects.
Nurses are a crucial and indispensable part of any health care system. That’s why MSF established the MSF Academy to train nurses, midwives, and health care staff within their own communities. No matter how long MSF’s work in an area continues, or when MSF eventually turns over project activities to local health authorities, MSF Academy graduates will be equipped to provide quality health care for decades to come.
In anticipation of National Nurses Day on Monday, May 6, we want to recognize the nurses and health care staff who are not only providing emergency medical care at MSF projects today—but also strengthening their local health care systems for tomorrow.
In honor of National Nurses Day, send a note of appreciation to MSF nurses who are saving lives around the world >>
