In addition to gutting the Pay Equity Fund and ending health care for early educators, Mayor Bowser’s plan also cuts funding for the Child Care Subsidy Program, which helps working families afford care. At a time when child care remains hard to find and out of reach for all but the well-to-do, we cannot afford these cuts.

Please join us this Friday, May 3, as the DC Council holds its FINAL public hearing on the Mayor’s budget proposal. It is an important opportunity to raise our voice and demand that the child care cuts be reversed.

After we kick off the day with the rally, we plan to pack the DC Council hearing room where the council will hear public input on the budget. We need to tell them to fix this bad budget. Educators, families and the District's economic well-being are depending on us.
