I'm about to ask if you'll chip in $5 or more — split with Jacky Rosen's campaign — toward Debbie Mucarsel-Powell's can't-miss emergency goal.

But first, there are three critical things I need you to understand: 

1. Senate Dems are the nation's last defense against a nationwide ban on abortions from the GOP, but we're also defending a one-seat majority. So we've got to jump on any chance we get to flip a Republican-held seat blue.

2. Extremist Sen. Rick Scott, as wealthy as he is unpopular, will be on Florida ballots this fall — and so will a widely-supported referendum to enshrine reproductive rights in the Sunshine State's constitution.

3. Florida will also have a Democrat like Debbie Mucarsel-Powell on the ballot. If voters show up to save abortion and elect her in the process, Florida could be what saves our Senate majority and guarantees the right to an abortion nationwide.

So I'm doing everything in my power to help Debbie defeat Rick Scott and the nasty attack ads his massive personal fortune can buy — but I just got word from DMP HQ that they’re falling behind on their crucial $100,000 emergency goal.

In other words, everything in my power still won't be enough. She needs a groundswell of support from grassroots Democrats like you, too.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you — as the majority leader, I can't just stand by when Scott is certain to try to buy this seat again. Please, friend: Will you split $5 between Debbie and Jacky Rosen's campaign by 11:59 p.m. to help close the shortfall, defeat Rick Scott, and save abortion in Florida and nationwide?
