Today is your opportunity to have your say in how Gosport and Fareham are run.

You have a choice: to vote Conservative for strong, well-run Councils that deliver low council tax and fight hard in the interests of residents across Gosport, Stubbington, Hill Head and Lee-on-the-Solent. Or, risk it all on other parties focused on political point scoring and playing games.

Our fantastic team of Conservative candidates, more diverse and inclusive than ever before, have energy and dedication, a strong track record of getting the job done, and the determination to help the Gosport Constituency build back better, supporting local businesses, regeneration, jobs and growth.  I do hope you will support them

**Zoe Huggins -**
*Alverstoke *
=============

I have lived in Alverstoke for over 40 years and actively participated in community groups and projects to support local residents and businesses for over a decade. I hold several community roles: Chair of a Multi-Academy, Trustee of the Sea Cadets, and Chair of a workforce group. I also serve as one of Gosport’s County Councillors, holding an Executive Member role, and I am Vice Chair of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Authority.

I was the Mayor of Gosport in 2020 and met so many of the people and organisations who make our area so special. I want to continue to represent my community - addressing important local issues and advocating for residents' needs -  and I want to see local taxpayers’ money invested back into the essential projects and services we all value.

**Alan Scard -**
*Anglesey*
==========

I grew up in Park Road, went to Alverstoke School and Church, and have lived in Anglesey Ward for most of my life. I did a 5-year Electrical Fitter Apprenticeship in the Dockyard and ended up as a Senior Procurement Engineer at IBM, Havant. I married my wife Judy in 1973 and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

I engage with about 500 Anglesey residents on a regular basis through my emails about community issues, which are non-political.

After the terrible flooding in Alverstoke Village I will be pushing once again for flood defences under Jackie Spencer’s Bridge. Originally this proposal of mine was sadly rejected on cost and environmental grounds as it seems the Environment Agency considers the habitat of the ‘Lagoon Sand Shrimp’ and the ‘Starlet Sea Anemone’ to be more important than people’s homes being flooded. I leave you to decide what is most important to Anglesey residents!

**Kath Jones -**
*Bridgemary*
============

I am a lifelong resident of Gosport, and have dedicated my career to community service and supporting local businesses. Having been involved in running two ‘Kev Jones’ businesses for over 30 years, I feel a real responsibility and connection towards local residents. As Mayor of Gosport from 2019-2020, I proudly supported homeless initiatives that resulted in a significant reduction in homelessness in the Town Centre.

My special connection to the Bridgemary community, where my father was a master builder, has shaped my dedication to improving living conditions and opportunities for residents.

**Robbie Beech -**
*Brockhurst and Privett*
========================

I live with my family in Brockhurst & Privett Ward, and I am passionate about enhancing cooperation between different communities in Gosport, to create a more unified and supportive environment.

As a veteran, I am a strong advocate for service personnel, veterans, and forces families. Gosport has among the highest population of veteran constituents in the country, alongside a large population of serving personnel, so I am keen to ensure the future cooperation, support and integration of military and civilian residents.

**Alan Neville -**
*Elson*
=======
I have been a Gosport resident for over a decade, but my understanding of the community comes as a result of 37 years of regular visits to our area.

My relationships with schools, churches, and charitable organisations in the area are second-to-none, due to the hours I have spent volunteering and serving on various committees. I have assisted residents in Elson with their concerns since 2018, ensuring that their voices are heard and taken seriously. My background in the emergency services and the NHS will provide valuable experience to my role as a Councillor should I win your vote.

As a proud member of the local Conservative Group, I am committed to supporting the residents of Elson and Gosport, advocating for your needs.

**Simon Bellord -**
*Forton*
========
As a History enthusiast I consider myself very lucky to now live in Royal Clarence Yard, surrounded by Gosport’s wonderful heritage.

I am an award-winning campaigner, having been recognised with a Man in the Community Award for my work with Woking YMCA, but I have also had a varied career working in teaching, records management, and property inspection, as well as being a Councillor for eight years in Surrey.

I am keen to use the skills I have developed through my volunteering activities to address residents’ concerns in Forton, and give back to this unique and special place.

**Tony Jessop -**
*Grange and Alver Valley*
=========================
I am proud to have been born in Grange Ward where I have lived for most of my life. I have represented the residents of Grange & Alver Valley for the past 14 years.

I hold regular Ward surgeries in Tesco, and have previously been Chair of the Housing Board, Regulatory Board, Climate Change Board, Chair of the CCTV Partnership, as well as a Trustee of the Rowner Community Trust.

I was first elected as Grange Councillor in 2010 and I would love to continue with the good work and progress that the area has made in that time.

**Lesley Meenaghan -**
*Harbourside and Town*
======================
I live in the heart of Harbourside & Town Ward. With a wealth of public service as a military veteran and a former Hampshire Police Community Sergeant for Gosport, I fully understand the community I have been proud to serve.

As a mother of a young autistic adult, I recognise the struggles that many families face every day. I am passionate about helping older residents remain in their homes, within the community they love, ensuring practical measures are put in place, keeping them safe, and preventing loneliness.

Previously, I have successfully campaigned for the reopening of Gosport Police Station and for mandatory CCTV in license plate holders in the Borough. You can always find me out and about in the Ward, usually with my dog Betty, listening to and acting upon community concerns. I have an unfaltering commitment to my community, family & country, and will always be a strong voice for local people.
**Diane Furlong -**
*Hardway*
=========
I am a lifelong resident of Hardway, educated locally in Gosport, and at Portsmouth University.

I am married with twin sons and five grandchildren, and I have served for ten years as a Councillor, including one year as Mayor. My drive to get what is best for Gosport is exemplified by my position as a trustee for the charity Level Up Gosport, and I am also a member of The Gosport Society committee.

I would welcome the opportunity to give another four years to our town, working for Hardway and Gosport.

**Angela Batten -**
*Lee East*
==========
I was born and raised in Lee, and I am a dedicated local businesswoman known for my support to small businesses and fundraising efforts for charities such as Dementia and Cancer Research. My salon serves as a community hub where people gather for coffee and conversation, which reflects my commitment to creating a welcoming space for all.

As a mother and grandmother, I understand the challenges faced by families in today’s society and I am deeply invested in supporting the well-being of residents in the community. My recent appointment as a school Governor demonstrates my commitment to education and to ensuring support for schools in the local area.

**Dan Hayes -**
*Lee West*
==========
I am lifelong resident of Gosport and have made my home in Lee-on-the-Solent. I have a deep connection to the Borough that has shaped my upbringing. Martial arts has given me a self-confidence and determination that will serve me well in fighting for residents and addressing their concerns.

If elected I pledge to continue the legacy of my predecessors by representing you; advocating for reduced parking charges and increasing funding for open spaces, leisure facilities, and essential services while collaborating with my fellow candidate Steyvn Ricketts.

**Remember you have two votes in Lee West.**

**Stevyn Ricketts - **
*Lee West*
==========
I have lived in Lee-on-the-Solent for two decades and so I am deeply connected to the area, appreciating the diverse range of local amenities on offer. I have a strong background in public service as a Special Constable with Hampshire Constabulary for 22 years, where I spent my days patrolling the streets of Lee-on-the-Solent.

I bring with me a wealth of knowledge and experience, having been Head of Streetscene at Gosport Borough Council for the last 20 years.  If elected, I will continue to fight for you; for a reduction in parking charges, and for an increase In funding for local amenities and essential services.

**Remember you have two votes in Lee West.**

**Pecs Uluviti - **
*Leesland and Newtown*
======================
My name is Peceli Uluiviti, but I am known as Pecs. I was born in Fiji where initially I worked as a telecom technician. However, like a considerable number of my fellow countryman, I responded to the call for Commonwealth citizens and joined the British Armed Forces.

I was selected by the Royal Navy (Supply Branch) and was lucky enough to serve for 8 years before being medically discharged due to an injury received while representing my Ship at rugby. I am married, have two children, and we very much consider Gosport to be our ‘hometown’.

I first came to know Gosport when I spent some time at HMS Sultan and thought the town would be the ideal place for my young family to settle in the UK – a decision we have never regretted.

I now work in the security business but find time to be a veteran charities’ volunteer and member of the Armed Forces Reserves. It would be a privilege to be able to give back to the community that welcomed me here.

**Supriya Namdeo -**
*Peel Common*
=============
I was born in India and moved to Gosport with my husband and we are proud to call Gosport ‘home’.

My and my family run the Premier on Wych Lane, which we are well-known for in the area. My business allows me to serve the local community, as I enjoy speaking with the many local residents that use the shop every day whilst listening to their concerns.

I hope that I can carry the spirit of service over into my role as Councillor should I be elected, because I am someone with a track record of implementing new ideas to make a positive change in the community.

**Gary Walker -**
*Rowner and Holbrook*
=====================
I am passionate about community cohesion and to that end run free events to create lasting memories for families at the CIC I founded, C2U Gosport. Through C2U I have been able to help some of the most vulnerable in society, such as the homeless, by providing essential resources like food banks.

I have a strong record of providing and supporting veterans and those who are most in need. I am pushing for improvements to the A32 junction at Brockhurst Gate as well as lobbying the MoD to improve the standard of the accommodation on Gorselands Way. I hope to be able to continue that work as a strong voice for Rowner and Holbrook.

**Steve Dugan -**
*Hill Head*
===========
I have lived in Hill Head and Stubbington for the last 33 years and before retiring worked as a MOD civil servant in aircraft engineering at both Fleetlands and HMS Sultan for 47 years in total.

I have had the honour of spending the last 6 years as the local Conservative councillor for Hill Head and have served several other roles in the community.

I am also a Governor at Titchfield Primary School. I volunteer at the Stubbington Pharmacy helping with prescription deliveries and have also helped out with the various vaccination programmes that they provide.

I enjoy meeting residents in the village centre to discuss issues or to chat in general and I certainly would not wish to live anywhere else. I hope to be able to continue to represent local residents and to use the knowledge I have gained across a broad spectrum of subjects.
**Kay Mandry -**
*Hill Head*
-----------
I am standing for re-election as your Conservative councillor in the Hill Head Ward. It has been a privilege being your councillor for the last twenty years representing both Stubbington and Hill Head. I am a founder Trustee and Treasurer of the Crofton Youth Project, Treasurer for Stubbington Fayre, a former Chairman of Hammond Hall Memorial Trust, and a Trustee of Crofton Community Centre.

I was born and lived in Stubbington all my life; I attended the local schools as have my family. Over the years I have seen changes, so was delighted to find funding to refurbish the War Memorial which is the centre of the village.

I have enjoyed working with residents during my time as a councillor and have supported everyone that has contacted me. I would like to continue working for our local community.

**Jacquie Needham -**
*Stubbington*
=============
I have lived in Stubbington for the last 45 years and grew up in Gosport.

In May 2022 I was honoured to be elected for Stubbington and have done my very best since then to represent the voice of the local community.

I am an accountant with my own business and have worked in schools and industry. I was a Citizens Advice advisor, and in Girl Guiding for 20 years. I project managed the Guiding centre in Stubbington.

If re-elected I would continue to represent all your views to improve our village and local area, alongside continuing to oppose the 1200 houses in the Strategic Gap, as a priority.

**Pal Hayre -**
*Stubbington*
=============
For 28 years, I've proudly called this community home, dedicating myself to its service. As your Fareham and Hampshire representative,  and Deputy Mayor, I've championed various philanthropic endeavours. I fundraise for the Crofton Youth Project, support the Love Stubbington group, and serve as a Trustee for the Hammond Hall Memorial Trust, overseeing the War Memorial's refurbishment.

I've aided community pillars like the Poppy Ladies and Stubbington Weeders, providing essential grant funding. Sundays find me leading litter picks in Stubbington to preserve our village's beauty. As a Governor at Baycroft School, member of Crofton Partnership, and president of Crofton Lions charity, I prioritize education and community welfare.

I am committed to improving community facilities, keeping residents safe, maintaining our green spaces and making positive changes that benefit everyone. With your support, we can work together to achieve our goals and make a difference in our community.

**Donna Jones -**
*Hampshire and the Isle of Wight*
=================================

As your PCC, I have delivered more police and safer streets, with:

- **650 more police officers** and a local bobby for every community.
- **Funding to reopen 10 new police stations** and front counters.
- **101 call waiting times down to under 4 minutes. **
- **A new Victims Hub**, along with commissioning over **£11 million of victim and perpetrator support programmes**, helping to make our communities safer.

You can find out more about why I'm asking for your vote [here]([link removed]).

Conservative councils are proven to be better run and have lower council tax, meaning more money in the pockets of hard-working families across our local area.

Make sure you get out to the ballot box before 10 pm to vote for our future local leaders.
