*Detroit Man Sentenced in 2021 Murder*





*LANSING* ? Yesterday, Riondre Griffin, 21, of Detroit, was sentenced to 25-50 years in prison for a 2021 murder, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.?

Griffin was found guilty by a Wayne County jury of one count of Second-Degree Murder, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Felony Firearm. Griffin also received a 2-to-5-year sentence for the Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Motor Vehicle charge. Both sentences will be served consecutively to a 2-year sentence for Felony Firearm.?

On November 7, 2021, the victim was driving in Detroit when three men, in a pickup truck driven by Griffin, intentionally crashed into her vehicle to compel her to stop and assess the damage.??

When the victim stepped out of her vehicle, Griffin demanded money for the damage to his vehicle. When the victim refused and drove away in her car, the three men pulled up alongside her, and Griffin fatally shot her four times.??

?A young woman?s life was tragically cut short by meaningless, senseless violence,? Nessel said. ?I hope this sentence offers a sense of closure and justice for her loved ones.??

Sentencing occurred in front of Judge Regina D. Thomas in Wayne County 3rd Circuit Court.?
