Friend, today we are joining workers around the world to
honor May Day. It commemorates a powerful moment in United States history where
in 1886, hundreds of thousands of workers went on strike, demanding safer
working conditions and an eight-hour workday.
May Day is a reminder of the power of labor solidarity – that individual actions
can fuel movements and that by working together, we can create change. In that same spirit, we are reaching out with a simple request which will have
a big impact.
We're thrilled to announce that CREDO Mobile has selected NILC as one of three
nonprofits to receive a grant this May. These critical funds will fuel our fight
for immigrant communities across the country, whether that is protecting the
right of workers to stand up to abusive employers, pushing Congress to provide
protections and a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients, or challenging
discriminatory laws in court.
That’s where you come in, team: The amount of funds we
receive depends entirely on the number of votes we earn. Casting your vote is quick and easy — it only takes 10 seconds, and it will
make all the difference. More votes mean more resources to power our work.
So, please take a moment to cast your vote for NILC below. It’s as simple as one

grateful that you are with us in this movement. Together, we can build a society

we are born or how much money we have, is treated fairly and with respect.
