Hi Friend,

We hope your week is going well! We would like to let you know about some upcoming "virtual events" we've organized that you may be interested in - and to ask whether you have any useful skills you'd like to share with others online as part of our new series. Read on to learn more!

This Thursday, April 9th at 5pm

How to make your own face masks with Sue Whitaker

Join us for a video demonstration on how to make your own face masks by Sue Whitaker! Sue will demonstrate different models of masks that she is sewing using primarily up-cycled materials found in most homes, show us how we can make them ourselves, and answer our questions.

This live webinar will take place using the Zoom videoconferencing platform. To register, please click here:?[link removed].

Face masks are now being recommended by Canadian public health officials <[link removed]> as a way to help reduce the risk of spread of the SARS-Cov2 virus - particularly when worn by those who have or may have the virus.

Introducing the "COVIDIY" skill-sharing series

This is the first in a series of "COVIDIY" skill-sharing webinars that we plan to bring you in the weeks to come, featuring regular Islanders sharing useful skills that are in high demand as we learn to cope with the health, social and economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Do you have a skill you'd like to share with others through this series? Let us know! Please email us at [email protected]

The Green Virtual Gathering - April 14 7-8:30pm

An open virtual gathering and discussion through Zoom for Island community members.

Meeting over video chat can be a great way to stay in touch, and feel like you aren't alone in your isolation. We all want to find a way to stay connected during this period of uncertainty, and are trying to find a good means to keep in touch with our communities.

Drop in anytime you like, stay for as long or as little as you'd like. We are looking forward to seeing you there on Zoom!

We look forward to seeing you (virtually) one day soon!
