Volume 16, Issue 16

“Note that there been those who have been attempting to say that the majority of people may have been students. You don’t have to be the majority to influence and to co-opt an operation. That is what this is about. … So, if we want to play the world police you can do so. I want to play the New York City police where we’re going to protect our city from those who have been attempting to do what is happening globally. There is a movement to radicalize young people and I am not going to wait until this is done, and all of a sudden acknowledge the existence of this. This is a global problem, that young people are being influenced by those who are professionals at radicalizing our children, and I am not going to let that happen as the Mayor of the City of New York....At the request of Columbia University, after speaking with them throughout the week, at their request, and their acknowledgment that outside agitators were on the ground training and really co-opting this move…At their request, we
went in and conducted an operation and removed those who have turned a peaceful protest into a place of antisemitism, and a place where anti-Israel attitudes were pervasive…We are proud to say, they have been removed from our campus.”

- Mayor Eric Adams, May 1, 2024
