The PRO Act would:
- Empower workers to form unions and bargain over wages and working conditions.
- Hold corporations accountable for union-busting.
-
Repeal “right to work” laws, which were created during the Jim Crow era to divide Black and white workers and weaken unions’ strength.
Congress should pass it!

Hi John,
Corporations declared war on the union movement a generation ago, and inequality has raged out of control ever since―directing virtually all new wealth to the richest 1%. Today is May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day. It’s a great day for the working class to fight back.
That same inequality is at the base of the long-term Social Security funding shortfall―if the ultra-rich paid their fair share, we could not only afford Social Security, we could afford to increase it.
Here’s the bottom line: Strong unions lead to a strong Social Security system. That’s why it’s so important for Congress to pass the PRO Act and Protect the Right to Organize.
Republicans and a few ‘moderate’ Democrats filibustered the PRO Act last Congress. Since then, we’ve seen major gains from the labor movement, from successful independent labor organizing at Amazon, Starbucks, and Trader Joe’s to major gains in established unions in Hollywood and the auto industry.
Let’s show Congress that people are pro-union across the country and across party lines.
Take Action. Tell Congress: Pass the PRO Act!
Where unions go, higher wages and better workplace protections follow. Higher wages strengthen Social Security, and safer workplaces reduce disability claims. This makes the PRO Act great for Social Security.
In Solidarity,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
