We are saddened today to report Long Beach had three additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing our total to six. All three were in their 80s with underlying health conditions. Our love and prayers go out to their families and friends. These losses bring into focus the importance of our Safer at Home order and that we have to do all we can to stay healthy.
Here's the latest update here in Long Beach:
- 256 positive results, including approximately 87 cases where people have recovered.
- Three more deaths have been reported, bringing the total to six. The three new fatalities, one man and two women, were all in their 80s with underlying health conditions.
- Positive cases confirmed at long-term care facilities in the City will only be posted at: longbeach.gov/COVID19 <[link removed]> under COVID-19 Updates.
Today’s Highlights:
- On April 6, the City of Long Beach launched a Rapid Assessment Clinic <[link removed]> to provide medical assistance to people who might otherwise feel compelled to visit an emergency room for their medical conditions.
Safer at Home Order:
- Two Health Orders <[link removed]> are in effect requiring individuals with COVID-19 to self-isolate <[link removed]>, and those at risk to self-quarantine <[link removed]> (4/01)
- Latest version of “Safer at Home” Order <[link removed]-> (3/28)
