So much has changed since we launched Onward Together in the spring of 2017. Then, we still didn’t know what the Trump presidency would look like in the long run or how long it would last. Now, we have a Democrat in the White House -- and I have a third grandchild to spend time with.
Seven years later, I’m thrilled to tell you that Onward Together hasn’t slowed down. Instead, we’ve brought on three new Onward Together partners. All three are doing smart, good work in their own ways, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about them over the next few weeks as a part of our anniversary celebration -- starting with the Democratic Data Exchange, which is working to centralize voting data across the party so that candidates and organizers can work more efficiently than ever before.

Onward Together works to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organize in their communities or run for office. Because you’re an important part of Onward Together, we wanted you to get a chance to know these groups a little bit better.
The organization: Democratic Data Exchange
The organizers: Emily Norman, former HFA staffer and long-time campaign strategist
The mission: To revolutionize the use of data within the Democratic and progressive space by radically expanding access to actionable information.
The story: Founded in 2019 to fill the infrastructure gaps, the Democratic Data Exchange -- or DDx, as it’s known -- quickly scaled up to include data from more than 500 participating organizations offering 3.8 billion shared data points. In the 2022 election cycle, users of DDx were able to reduce redundant voter contact attempts by 50-80%.
The next step: Expanding access to candidate campaigns in advance of the 2024 elections and launching their brand new data visualization tools.
