Happy AAPI Heritage Month! This month, we'll be highlighting the phenomenal AAPI LGBTQ+ leaders who paved the way. But there's still so much history to make. Today, there are only 41 out AAPI LGBTQ+ officials in the entire country [[link removed]] - and we must continue working to ensure AAPI people have an equal seat at the tables of power.
The first step: recognizing those who have shattered rainbow ceilings and are working on behalf of our community right now. These amazing leaders fearlessly answered the call of public service. But we are working to move us forward. In 2024, Victory Institute will train a diverse pipeline of LGBTQ+ leaders to run for office and pursue careers in public service. Through programs like our Victory Empowerment Fellowship [[link removed]] , Victory Congressional Internship [[link removed]] and Candidate & Campaign Trainings ( join us for our FINAL training of year in Chicago, IL! [[link removed]] ), Victory Institute is determined to ensure AAPI LGBTQ+ voices and perspectives are equally represented in halls of power.
