It's May Day, John! And we’re writing today to honor the movement that led to fair and equitable workers' rights and the ongoing struggle for fair wages, safe working conditions and dignity in the workplace.
Labor unions and workers fought to standardize 40-hour and five-day work weeks back in 1940, and still today, pro-labor, pro-union candidates fight to continue the work around fair labor practices with just as much vigor as labor organizations did 138 years ago.
Working families have always been the backbone of this country and the foundation of our communities. But big corporations continue to exploit our workers, keeping wages stagnant and work conditions substandard.
The only way we can secure better treatment and working conditions for our labor force is by standing behind pro-labor candidates in office who will protect workers’ rights.
