Governor Holcomb announced a $10M investment in critical personal protective equipment for Indiana’s volunteer firefighters.


That $10 million will obtain 940 complete sets of new personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) across 66 fire departments. This lifesaving investment will keep those who run toward danger equipped and safe.

Our volunteer firefighters are some of our bravest and most selfless Hoosiers. These updates are critical for safety and will help protect our firefighters statewide.


Governor Holcomb’s 2023 Next Level Agenda has secured $17.7 million for PPE and new training facilities for volunteer stations across Indiana — and these heroes deserve every penny.
