Team,

Last month, the Florida Supreme Court overturned decades of precedent and cleared the way for a six-week abortion ban to take effect. That ban goes into effect today, leaving abortion severely restricted or totally banned in every southeastern state in the U.S.

But the courts aren't our only path forward. The Center for Reproductive Rights is supporting partners on the ground to secure a right to abortion in the state's constitution through a ballot measure, Amendment 4, that will go to Florida voters this fall. Abortion has been on the ballot seven times since Roe v. Wade was overturned nearly two years ago, and it has won every. single. time.

FIGHT BACK

You've already seen what happens when states ban abortion. Pregnant people are being forced to flee their home states to seek the care they need or forced to give birth when they lack the resources to go elsewhere for care, and health care providers are being prevented from doing their jobs by laws that put people's lives in danger.

Thanks to your support, the Center is using every tool at our disposal to fight back—from state-level litigation to advocating for federal legislation—and we're not slowing down any time soon.

Onward,

Center for Reproductive Rights
