John,
Georgia’s Governor, Brian Kemp was late to act, and because of that, we are seeing warnings from medical workers around our state about preparing for a “super surge” in hospital bed demand in the coming days. Where is the leadership? Why are our elected officials not heeding the best advice from the health care and infectious disease specialists?
Now we are seeing the extreme importance in who we choose to lead our communities and help guide us during dire times of uncertainty and danger. Who we elect matters, especially now, in the midst of this global pandemic. We are at a point where the very real effects of this current administration and the major importance of having local leaders who can act are clear. It is our local officials who are stepping up and taking charge of our security needs.
I was joined by many leaders here in DeKalb, and who I serve with on the DeKalb Board of Health calling for a stronger lockdown approach over two weeks ago.
