I have a confession. I only use one computer screen. My son judges me for this. He uses three separate monitors.

He explains that multiple screens allow you to watch several things simultaneously rather than flipping back and forth between windows on a single screen. He has a point.

The same is true to stay informed about democracy. We must follow multiple different stories at once. On the same day that Donald Trump was standing trial in New York for crimes related to the 2016 election, an Arizona judge was ruling on the fate of drop boxes and the rules for signature verification of mail-in ballots. All while Trump’s lawyers were arguing for total presidential immunity before the U.S Supreme Court.

Three different stories, three different courts — all essential to understanding what will happen in November. I’m not going to tell you not to watch or care about the Trump trial. You should; I can’t pull my eyes away either. But you also have to pay attention to what else is happening in the courts.

In this month’s Litigation Look Ahead, I identify the screens we all need open right now, which include:
* Takeaways from Trump’s busy April in court(s).
* Six big court rulings I’m waiting for that will almost certainly determine who wins and loses this election. Plus, the decisions I anticipate will come any day.
* Two critical cases going to court this month in Arizona and Wisconsin that deserve our attention.
* My prediction for the RNC’s litigation target this month.
