John, I’m not exaggerating when I say that this race is too close for comfort.

North Carolina is the most competitive and expensive gubernatorial race in the nation this year, and it won’t be an easy road to victory on Election Day. Polls show a statistical tie between my GOP opponent and me. U.S. News calls our race a “knock-down, drag-out contest.” And Republicans are eyeing North Carolina’s governorship as their top pickup opportunity – they’re already pouring millions in far-right money into our state.

But I never back down from a fight. I’ve spent the last seven years as North Carolina’s Attorney General taking on the big fights – and winning. Now I’m running for Governor because I want to protect the progress we have made and continue building a better future – a future rooted in freedom, justice, and opportunity – for North Carolina.

On the other hand, my opponent Mark Robinson wants to enact the GOP’s extremist agenda – which is why Donald Trump and national Republican groups are backing his campaign.

Here’s the truth: Mark Robinson is not just wrong for North Carolina, he’s dangerous. He has cast doubt on the Holocaust, claimed the 2020 election was stolen, degraded women, mocked school shooting survivors, and vilified LGBTQ+ folks. And if he is elected, he will try to sign a total abortion ban into law. Mark Robinson wants to tell you who you can marry, when you’ll be pregnant, and who you should hate.

I know I don’t. Mark Robinson and his extremist allies are doing nothing but stoking national Republicans’ culture wars and they must be stopped. The only way to do that is to meet them vote-for-vote and dollar-for-dollar until November 5th, team, and we need your help.
