We’ve had a historic month in Arizona — both good and bad.

On the bad side, extremists brought back a near-total abortion ban from 1864, and despite the dangers and chaos that came with this Civil War-era ban, Republican lawmakers failed to repeal it multiple times.

But on the other hand, this news galvanized millions of people across Arizona who may not have been tuned into politics this far out from November to take action to stop anti-abortion extremism once and for all.

It’s clear: We are ready to make Arizona the next state to enshrine the right to an abortion in our state constitution. Now all that’s left to do is lay the groundwork to get it done later this year.
