Hi friend, it's Debbie. I'm reaching out to share a short story with you:

When I was 14 years old, my mother, sisters, and I left our home in Ecuador to find a better life. To achieve our American Dream, my mom worked double shifts to support our family while I adjusted to my new life in a new country. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy.

We struggled to cover the bills and rent for our tiny one room apartment. That’s why I got a job at a local doughnut shop as soon as I turned 15. From a young age, I knew I would do whatever it took to help my family and those around me.

But funnily enough, my extremist opponent, Rick Scott, also got his start in the doughnut business — when he bought two doughnut shops. While the business helped me make minimum wage, it made him massive profits.

Our similar stories only highlight how different we really are. I’ve always cared about serving others. He's only ever cared about enriching himself.

And with Florida's six-week abortion ban taking effect tomorrow, it’s more crucial than ever to stop a self-serving senator like Scott and protect the one thing standing in the way of a federal ban: our razor-thin Blue majority.

We can’t let him buy his seat like he bought those doughnut shops — but I won’t overcome his massive campaign cash advantage without your help, friend.

So please, will you chip in $5 or more to help me reach my end-of-month goal, retire Rick Scott, and fight to protect reproductive rights by saving our Democratic Senate majority?

Thank you for standing with me.

— Debbie
