The results of our DACA survey are in, and DACA recipients across the country shared their lived experiences as DACA holders.
The results are IN, friend!
In 2023, over 500 DACA recipients were surveyed about the effect of DACA on their lives. While each person has their own unique experiences that shape their opinions, the majority of respondents agreed that DACA is not enough.
Over 65% of DACA recipients surveyed shared that DACA has allowed them to pursue higher education and 81.9% of respondents say the program has given them financial independence.
We know DACA has been a lifeline to hundreds of thousands of families including mine, but it was only intended to be a temporary solution. Congress must deliver a clear pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients and all immigrants! Will you take action with me today?
For 9 years in a row, United We Dream (UWD) has partnered with Tom K. Wong of the U.S. Immigration Policy Center at the University of California, San Diego, the National Immigration Law Center, and the Center for American Progress to survey DACA recipients.
Each year, we’ve seen common themes of anxiety around family separation and the toll it takes on our mental health as the DACA program is repeatedly attacked in the courts. This year, 45.4% of respondents shared they think about themselves or a loved one being in immigration detention at least once a day.
