John,
Since constructing the nation’s first wildlife overpass in 1975, Utah has pioneered wildlife crossing structures. Thanks to supporters like you, our team successfully advocated for Utah’s allocation of $20 million specifically for wildlife crossings—the second largest investment any U.S. state has directed toward crossing structures. This year, we built on that success, and with our partners, we helped secure an additional $1 million non-lapsing appropriation in Utah’s state budget for wildlife highway accident prevention. This is the first time a state has dedicated recurring funding for wildlife crossing infrastructure.
