Here’s the deal, folks: ahead of tonight’s end-of-month fundraising deadline, I wanted to share a few key facts about my U.S. Senate race in New Mexico:
To start with : Mitch McConnell’s allies handpicked my Republican opponent, a multi-millionaire hedge fund executive, who kicked off her campaign with $500,000 of her own funds.
Then : She announced a fundraising haul of over $1 million in the first quarter — signaling to any GOP mega-donors on the fence that New Mexico is competitive and worth flooding with ads attacking my record.
As I write this : We’re running behind on our end-of-month fundraising goal, but we can’t afford to fall even a few dollars short if we’re going to compete with our opponent and her ultra-wealthy allies. Not when our Senate Majority and every issue that matters are on the line.
Next : Grassroots supporters are the backbone of our movement, and we’re counting on your support to help close the gap and make sure we can stay ahead in this race. Even just a few dollars will go a long way toward important efforts like launching ads, contacting voters, and more. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to give, I hope you’ll give today: Can you chip in $10 or any amount you’re able to power my campaign’s work to keep New Mexico and the Senate blue?
