** Reports: EMS in New York City told not to bring cardiac arrest victims to hospital if unable to resuscitate in field
------------------------------------------------------------
Reports obtained by Law Enforcement Today are telling of just how bad things are getting in New York regarding COVID-19. Apparently, EMS in New York City and Long Island are being instructed to not transport cardiac arrest patients into hospitals if they cannot be saved in the field.
The reasoning behind this directive likely has to do with emergency rooms being overrun with cases of COVID-19, but over worked hospitals aren’t the only reason. The directive also seems to stem from virus fears. Read More. ([link removed])

** Cuomo complains about lack of medical supplies, ignores Remington Arms’ offer to manufacture whatever he needs
------------------------------------------------------------
Andrew Cuomo is on television every day giving updates about the impact of COVID-19, the hardest hit state in the country.

However, when police do something which does not show the profession in a positive light, we highlight that as well. Case in point: The Kansas City (KS) Police Department. Read More. ([link removed])

** Report: 68% of jail inmates in ’18 were held on felony charges… yet countless inmates are being released ‘for their safety’
------------------------------------------------------------
As I write this, we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ninety percent of the media coverage as it relates to criminal justice issues is a call to release as many jail and prison inmates as possible to prevent the spread of the virus.
In the midst of all this is a new report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics of the US Department of Justice stating that jail populations are already reduced, significantly so for some demographics. Sixty-eight percent of jail inmates were held for felony charges. Read More. ([link removed])
