Some political pundits say that small dollar donors are getting less and less involved in politics. For us, the jury still seems to be out

More than 23,000 donations were made to my campaign in March with an average gift of $6. And let me tell you that while $6 goes a long way in helping us to reach the voters we need to continue winning elections – not as many people are donating to campaigns like mine as they once did. In fact, our fundraising numbers are down 84% in the first 11 days of April compared to the first 11 days of March.

This email is on the longer side, so if you don't want to read to the end, would you be able to make a contribution of $6, our average March donation, to help us kick-start our april fundraising?

Some political pundits have written articles that spell doom for Republican candidates, opining that conservative candidates/causes have inundated you with too many texts and too much email to sift through in a day. While It’s true that nearly every congressional campaign in the 2024 cycle will attempt to utilize online fundraising to propel them into the House/Senate, not every email or text is created equal; and not every email or text will deliver the entirety of your donation to the candidate you think you’re donating to.

Bad actors and political grifters have figured out that online fundraising is a good way to make a quick buck off your generosity. Not me. Not now, not ever.

I know a couple of things to be true:
  • We must do everything within our power to hold onto the U.S. House – the future of our country absolutely depends on it

  • Democrats are outraising Republicans 2-1 most months, sometimes it can even be as high as 3-1
That’s why I’m reaching out today. The stakes are as high now as they were in each of the past two elections, yet in just one month we've seen an 84% drop in donations. If you can, would you please help us close the donation gap by chipping in $6 or another amount today?

When considering whether to donate to campaign contribution requests like this one, I urge you to look at the paid for language at the bottom of the email. Do you know who you’re giving money to? It may not be the person asking for it.

With so much competition for your hard-earned dollars, campaigns like mine have seen a dramatic shift in the donations we’re able to bring in every month, putting a damper on our efforts to keep our one-seat House majority. So, if you’re able to at this time, would you please consider my request for a donation today? Whether it’s $5, $15, or the March average of $6, every contribution counts – every single contribution matters.
