Learn about options for improving clean energy siting and permitting in Washington
Webinar scheduled for noon on May 21
The Department of Commerce will host an informational webinar about a recent evaluation of state agency siting and permitting processes for clean energy projects. This effort identifies successful models used in other states and makes recommendations with the goal of more efficient and effective siting of clean energy projects. The evaluation was directed by ESSHB 1216 (Chapter 230, Laws of 2023).
The Department of Commerce’s Energy Program contracted with the law firm Beveridge & Diamond PC for the evaluation. Eric Christensen, principal at Beveridge & Diamond PC, will provide a summary briefing on the findings and recommendations from this evaluation. The results of this work will be reported to the Legislature and Governor, and will be considered for inclusion in the recently established Clean Energy Siting Council’s annual report.
