AKRON, OH — Today, Emilia Sykes for Congress announces that the Ohio AFL-CIO endorsed the re-election of Congresswoman Emilia Sykes by a unanimous vote of the Executive Board.
"The unanimous decision of the Ohio AFL-CIO Executive Board to endorse Congresswoman Emilia Sykes’ re-election is a testament to her dedication to improving the lives of working people in her district," said Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga. "In the past two years Congresswoman Sykes has delivered America's largest investment in infrastructure, capped insulin prices for seniors, secured meaningful federal investments to ensure the 13th District continues to lead the way in polymer innovation and stood on the picket line with union members in their fight for a fair contract. Emilia fights for us in Congress and stands with us at home and we proudly continue our support for her."

Sykes is serving the second year of her first two-year term representing Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Her top priority is making government work for her district. During her tenure, she has brought back more than $100 million in federal dollars to to improve public transportation and infrastructure in Northeast Ohio, including $500,000 for the North Canton Arrowhead Water Well Project, $959,752 for the New Franklin Water and Sewer Project, and $1 million for the Lake Anna Revitalization Project.
