Maggie’s List 2024 Annual Reception

Maggie’s List proudly celebrated our Congressional Partners and Endorsed Candidates at our annual reception at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington D.C. on April 9, 2024. We were thrilled to be joined by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Congressional Chairs Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY), along with many of our Congressional Partners and Endorsed Candidates.
This star-studded evening featured remarks from the aforementioned elected officials and great conversation about our work to elect more conservative women to Congress. The event was featured, as well, in Politico Playbook ([link removed]) the following morning.
In addition to our Annual Reception, our state chairs and board members also enjoyed an evening at the European Union Ambassador’s residence. We were joined by EU Ambassador to the United States Jovita Neliupšienė and Lithuanian Ambassador to the United States Audra Plepyte for a discussion on the conflict in Ukraine and international relations at-large.

Maggie's List Congressional Partner Spotlights

About Congresswoman Michelle Steel

Born in South Korea and raised in Japan, Michelle immigrated to the United States to build her own American Dream. She is one of the first Korean American women to ever serve in Congress. After seeing how difficult it was for her non-English speaking mother to navigate the tax laws and state regulations, she ran for the State Board of Equalization - the nation’s only elected tax board – where she represented more than nine million residents, including all of Orange County. At the time, she was the highest-ranking Korean American elected official in the United States. Michelle currently serves on the Committee on Ways and Means, the Committee on Education and Workforce, the Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, and the Congressional-Executive Commission on China.
